We are seeking an Associate Vice President for Business Affairs with strong leadership and project management experience. This new position reports to the Vice President for Business Affairs/Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for financial analyses, reporting, and monitoring of financial performance against the goals of the organization.
Primary responsibilities include: preparing annual operating and capital budgets; developing financial projections and forecasts based upon economic conditions and institutional assumptions; working with department heads to develop annual budgets; presenting oral and written reports summarizing trends, findings, recommendations; preparing cost analyses of current or proposed initiatives; preparing various reports for data collection surveys; identifying opportunities for enhanced internal controls; ensuring compliance with government and other authorities’ reporting and recordkeeping requirements; and assisting with external audits.
This position requires deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles with an emphasis on not for profits and higher education, the understanding and working knowledge of fund accounting, the ability to develop and manage budgeting policies, and knowledge of or ability to quickly become proficient in Jenzabar EX and Infomaker software.
Successful candidate will be proficient in ERP software (Jenzabar EX preferred) and report writer software. Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and time management skills along with strong planning skills are also required. Able to handle multiple projects within a fast paced work environment.
Master’s degree in accounting or finance and/or CPA required. Experience in medium to large not for profit or higher education industries, with 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis preferred.
