Blog . Philadelphia Trip, Squirrels, And Birds
Whoo Hoo! It's Friday and it is a beautiful sunny day outside. Well I had a great time on the Philadelphia trip. We got to stay in downtown Philadelphia at the Crown Plaza. We got to go and see the Mütter Museum which was AWESOME! It had lots of anatomically strange specimens like skulls, the soap lady, and Chang and Eng, the original "Siamese Twins." We got a behind the scenes tour of the museum and got to see the Quay Brothers film Through the Weeping Glass which was filled with books, instruments, and medical anomalies at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia and the Mütter Museum of the museum. After the museum, you could do whatever you wanted. Some people went to the State Penitentiary, the Art Museum, South Street, bars, Independence National Historical Park where the Liberty Bell is, and just exploring what Philadelphia had to offer. It was a fun weekend and nobody got lost, which is always a plus. In other news, I get to finish my Fox Squirrel Taxidermy tomorrow. I am so excited to finish it. It is so fluffy. During bird skinning the past two Wednesdays, I have been skeletonizing birds, so basically we pull all the feathers and skin off and take out all the organs and you are left with just the skeleton and some muscle. Then you put the skeleton with some muscle on it in a bin filled with Dermestids which eat all of the muscles, and you are left with a bird skeleton. The beetle larvae are hungry. Well hope everyone has a great weekend.
