Demanding wine grower slights his own kid in French drama YOU WILL BE MY SON
YOU WILL BE MY SON is an acclaimed new French drama set in the Bordeaux region. There a prominent winegrower who is also a demanding patriarch (Niels Arestrup) sparks familial resentment when he picks his steward's son, instead of his own bookish progeny, to help him run the vineyard. Variety calls it "a classy, full-bodied family drama." Catch its exclusive Cleveland premiere, in a 35mm color & scope print, on Saturday or Sunday.

Stripper takes job as nanny in delightful comedy-drama AFTERNOON DELIGHT, starring ex-Clevelander Kathryn Hahn
Ex-Clevelander Kathryn Hahn gets a rare lead role in Jill Soloway's new comedy-drama AFTERNOON DELIGHT, which won the Directing Award in the U.S. Drama competition at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Hahn, a familiar supporting player in comedies by Judd Apatow, Sacha Baron Cohen, and David Wain, plays a frustrated housewife and young mother who decides to spice up her home and sex life by hiring a stripper (Juno Temple) as a live-in nanny. Jane Lynch co-stars in this movie that Quentin Tarantino, in October, listed as one of his "top 10 films of 2013 - so far." Catch its exclusive Cleveland premiere on Saturday or Sunday. Print this email and present it at the box office and pay only $7 ($6 if you're a Cinematheque member). It's our Deal of the Week! (Limit two discount admissions per print-out) Here's the trailer.

Marlene Dietrich stars in Ernst Lubitsch's rare 1937 romantic comedy ANGEL
Marlene Dietrich, Herbert Marshall, and Melvyn Douglas star in Ernst Lubitsch's 1937 comedy ANGEL, in which the neglected wife of a British diplomat has a brief, anonymous affair while on vacation in Paris. A failure when first released, the movie is now regarded by many as one of Lubitsch's masterpieces. Since it's never been released on DVD, you shouldn't miss the 35mm print from the Universal Pictures studio archive that we will show on Saturday or Sunday.

Cinematheque premieres THE WICKER MAN: FINAL CUT at the Capitol Theatre
For its 40th anniversary, a much-mutilated 1973 cult classic that Cinefantastique once called "the Citizen Kane of horror films" has been digitally restored to a version authorized by its director, Robin Hardy. THE WICKER MAN: FINAL CUT is a sexy, suspenseful account of a devoutly Christian British policeman who searches for a missing girl on a remote Scottish island where paganism is practiced. Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland, Diane Cilento, and Ingrid Pitt star in the movie, which was written by Anthony Shaffer (Sleuth, Hitchcock's Frenzy). This "absolute must for all serious movie buffs" (Salon.com) will show on the big screen at the Capitol Theatre, 1390 W. 65th St. at Detroit Ave., next Tuesday, December 3, at 7:00 pm. Special admission is $10; Cinematheque members $8; age 25 & under $7. The movie is for adults only. No passes, twofers, or radio winners and no Cleveland Cinemas passes or discounts will be accepted or honored. Advance tickets available atwww.clevelandcinemas.com. Watch the trailer for this new restoration here.
