Digital Canvas Initiative

The photo above is a part of student Sabrina Thi’s web journal, created for Professor Barbara Chira’s Charette class, a project-based design class.  Professor Chira has done some great things with iPads in her classes as part of the Digital Canvas Initiative at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In her classes, Professor Chira has utilized the iPad to explore, refine, document and support the creative process. She’s also taken full advantage of the portable and intuitive nature of the iPads to help students to film and edit videos that are poignant, intimate, surprising and informative. According to Professor Chira, the students were able to make  powerful works that never would have been created without  the iPads.
