Les éditions volumiques is a publishing house focusing on the paper book as a new computer platform, as well as a research lab on book, (computational) paper, reading, games and toys and their relation to new technologies. They believe that the interactive, video games in particular, led to a new conception of the narrative and the role of the reader raising the questions of how to introduce the uses and user experience of digital media in the paper book in order to update, expand its scope and engage the reader in a new way.
By combining physical cards, game pieces, and other objects for purchase with free iPad applications, Les éditions volumiques allows users to experience a whole new level of game play and exploration by utilizing the celebrated digital/physical interaction the iPad is renowned for. By integrating real-world objects with interactive applications in the digital world, these books and games are as visually stimulating as they are just plain fun!
