Digital Canvas Initiative

Guerilla artist Jerrem Lynch from Ontario, Canada combines a digital projector, an iPad, and a mobile power source to bring his artwork to the streets. Using the iPad as his canvas, he draws on the screen and then throws his drawings onto urban settings. His work turns objects and places people see everyday and may take for granted into a hidden surprise that jolts people out of their lethargy and can make them look for new things in a setting they have traveled a hundred times.

He also uses an iPad in his interactive project called “Lol Vision v1″ where the audience controls video clips based on their body pose. The software detects the body position of the viewer and will project a clip relevant to the body pose or dance of the viewer. The video clips are a mash up of pop culture, movies, television shows, and other elements to create a relationship with the body form.
