The Cleveland Institute of Art has its entire family online with MyFolio to foster our creative community. As artists we grew from CIA and have a rich history of collective experiences stemming from our campus and can harness that to inspire past, present, and future students at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Students were gifted with a MyFolio pro account with admission and can connect with one another with the features MyFolio has to offer. Contact Matt Minnich at mminnich@cia.edu to activate your account.
Welcome to the MyFolio home page! Explore the artwork of other professionals using MyFolio by media, category, popularity, or date added.
Visit the CIA home page! Our online portfolios can be used to showcase work for festivals and to invite recruiters and employers for students.
All of that looks awesome and now you’re excited to get a professional portfolio of your own started to showcase your art! Here’s how:
The first step after logging in is to upload your files which can be video, photos, or sound. Acceptable formats are PNG, JPG, GIF, AVI, MOV, MPG, MP3, and WAV. Drag and drop multiple files to the upload box to upload multiple files at once. Each pro account comes with 5GB of storage space. There is a 500 MB restriction on single file size, so check out this compression guideline to help you export video and sound properly.
When the file is done uploading, you will have the option to title, describe, tag, and choose which gallery to sort the file into. You can also change privacy settings here and copyright the image. This is important! Make sure your work is protected.
After entering all of the information for the file, this is what it will look like. Notice the yellow copyright bookmark over the image, that means my copyright settings have been saved. If someone likes what you did, they can share it in a variety of ways but the yellow ribbon offers me protection so that no one else can use my work.
This is an example of what the live portfolio page will look like. My portfolio has video AND illustration, so it will make it easier for others to browse my work when it is organized according to the category of work.
After uploading your artwork, it shows up in a CIA activity feed so you can stay updated with what your classmates are creating! Comment on work, ask questions, and favorite work that inspires you. MyFolio is a simple tool for you to stay connected, share your masterpieces with the world, and find your dream job!
