Urban Rhythms is an application by artist Jody Zellen exploring the way individuals travel in urban environments. Supported by an Investing in Artists grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation and the City of Santa Monica Artist Fellowship Program, Zellen created Urban Rhythms using openFrameworks for the iPhone with flocking algorithms in collaboration with Daniel Shiffman, David Nolen, and Jeremy Rotsztain. Tap, swipe, and tilt your screen to direct the animated figure population in any direction you choose! Available for free in the iTunes store, Urban Rhythms is a visual database, interactive drawing tool, and game all in one!
