Framing Our Future capital campaign

Help us frame our future!

Support the Framing Our Future capital campaign for a Unified Campus at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

By modernizing and unifying our two buildings separated by a half mile, CIA will be able to:

  • More readily attract top faculty members and high-achieving students from across the country and world;
  • Grow enrollment from the current level of 546 students to approximately 650 students, and stabilize it at that level, leading to a more secure financial future;
  • Enable students form diverse majors to learn together and inspire one another in one location;
  • Realize substantial cost-savings by no longer having to maintain two separate and aging facilities

The first phase of our campus project, modernization of our Joseph McCullough Center for the Visual Arts, netted awards of recognition from The Cleveland Restoration Society, the Cleveland and Akron chapters of the American Institute of Architects, and University Circle, Inc.

The second phase—the current construction of a new George Gund building—will be equally impressive.  And for the first time in the history of the college, all CIA facilities will have efficient and comfortable climate control year round.  When the building is complete in 2015, our unified campus will bolster our undergraduate recruitment efforts and help us draw Northeast Ohio residents of all ages to attend our public programming, including cutting-edge cinema, gallery exhibitions, public lectures, and our robust continuing education offerings.
