Orientation . Fall Orientation
You’ve already taken care of business this summer with StART online—so now it’s time for the fun part! Fall Orientation is a mandatory three-day program that takes place in August before classes begin. Orientation will help you adjust to college life and embark on the road to a profession in art and design. Orientation runs from the morning of Thursday, August 20 through Saturday, August 22 in the evening. All new students to CIA, including transfer students and non-traditional students are encouraged to attend all parts of Orientation.

This year we are inviting parents and families to attend a half day orientation with their students. Parent Orientation will begin on Thursday, August 20 at 9:00am with breakfast with the President’s Cabinet. The parent sessions with conclude with a CIA Resource Fair and lunch with your student. More details regarding the full schedule and information about registration will be available in late July.

The check in process for Fall new student orientation will begin on Thursday, August 19 at 9:00 am with breakfast. Students who will be commuting to campus may park in the JMC student parking lot located behind the JMC Building (signs will guide you). More details regarding the schedule to come.
Learning Support Services Office offers an afternoon orientation program on Wednesday, August 19 to incoming students with documented learning disabilities. These can include, but are not limited to, dyslexia, A.D.H.D., or an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The program is offered in conjunction with the new student orientation program. During our LD Orientation, you and your parents meet the Learning Support Services staff and are provided with an overview of accommodations, information on assistive technologies, time management, as well as, study skills specific to the unique demands of the CIA student experience.
