The Registrar’s Office is responsible for certification of enrollment, verification of degrees conferred, and diploma reprints.
Enrollment certifications include enrollment status (e.g., full-time or part-time), terms attended, and anticipated dates of graduation. Grades or other evaluative information is not part of an enrollment certification. Students requiring enrollment certifications for medical or insurance purposes, loan deferments, or employment, should contact the Registrar’s Office. Enrollment certification takes two to three days for processing from the time the request is received. There is no charge for enrollment certifications.
Because graduation dates and degrees are public record, and therefore not subject to FERPA, such information may be released to employers and other external parties. Degree verification may include the degree received, date conferred, and major. Information on courses taken and grades are not a part of degree verification. Evaluative information on a student’s performance (e.g., grades or GPA) can be released to a third party only with written permission from the student.
Requests for degree verification should include as much information about the student as possible including their complete name (or former name), date of birth, graduation year, and degree received. Requests for verification of degrees should be directed to the Registrar’s Office. There is no charge for verification of degrees.
Requests for diploma reprints should be directed to the Registrar’s Office. Diplomas are printed only once a year in the spring semester. Graduates requesting diploma reprints must supply the Registrar’s Office with their diploma name, year of graduation, major, and mailing address. Diploma reprints cost $50. Once the reprint fee has been paid, diplomas will be mailed.
